Serena for The US Open

You WOULDN'T wanna be that tennis ball. Trust me.

Sue the couch potato

So its a saturday night, and I'm doing what I love doing every saturday night. Internet, hot chocolate, couch, pizza, movie. Perfect.

Two nights back, I did something that I've always felt like doing. It was about 2am in the morning, and I was not sleepy. So I took my phone and my headset, and went to sit in my veranda. Sat there, watching the moon, while listening to trance music on my phone. Saw birds flying under the moonlit sky.

Life at its best, is when everyone else goes to sleep. It feels like the universe is communicating with you.

September

I don't know wtf is wrong with some Malaysian banks. Can't you people get a simple T.T through to Australia? DUDE its like a life and death situation. I need to get my fees paid, and if that T.T doesn't get through, then I'M FUCKING SCREWED.

The workload I have this semester.. Damn.

Financial Management, Business Law, Organisational Behaviour, Business Policy & Strategy.

God help me.

But some classes are fine, I guess. Like business law lectures. Can't keep my eyes off the board *cough cough*

The other day, I was sitting in an O.B lecture, and when I turned around, You Know Who was there. LIKE HOW DID I MISS THAT??? Since when were you in my O.B lecture?
Distraction distraction... In a good way. Heh.

BTW, yellow and pink looks good on you.

Thoughts in Solitude

Being away from home is a good thing. I mean, yea I miss mum & sis a lot.
But here in Ipswich, for the first time in my life, I feel like I have time for myself.
I'm glad that I didn't go to Brisbane right away in my first sem. I will be going there next Feb, but for now, Ipswich is somewhat like a place for me to reflect on certain things in life.

Before I came to Aussie, my life was a whole lot different. I always had the need to do something, to please someone, or to conform to the needs of society, in general.
My life is complicated (trust me, VERY complicated ) and I was always complaining about it. I was always going on about how hard it is to go through this and that. There was always something that I always HAD to complained about.

But sitting here thinking , I realize this. Life is complicated. PERIOD.
But we can choose to ignore the complications. So this certain part of your life/friends/family is screwed up? Going through depression? People don't understand you? Feel out of place? People telling you to do this and do that? Hmmph, so be it. Just smile and turn your back on all of it.
Look out your window. The sun is shining. Wind is blowing. Birds are singing. All that matters is you and what you choose to do today.

Don't listen to people who have a bias view on matters. They are not worth having a conversation with. Talk to people who are open to your views and see your side of the argument, although they don't quite agree with you. Maturity is not about age. Life is about being yourself. If you can roll in mud, climb a tree, and play with kids in the playground, even when you're 30 years old, and yet stand your ground when it comes to upholding your values, then thats what I call being mature. Have an outline of where you want to go in life. But avoid making plans. Plans don't always work out.

And NEVER let people impose their values on you, and vice versa. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs, and people should respect that.

A time where bloggers make more sense then politicians

This is a post from Patrick Teoh's blog . Is it just me, or are bloggers these days making more sense than politicians??

Thank You UMNO Youth!

I woke up to some good news this morning. After my morning coffee I surfed the Net for the morning news. And read in The Malaysian Insider that "Umno Youth says PAS stands for DAP". Wah! Damn loud stuff early in the morning and proves right away that Umno Youth can't spell. Hahahaha...sorry coffee and Malaysian news has that effect on me in the morning. But I digress.

The Malaysian Insider today reported "PAS’s Pakatan Rakyat (PR) partner DAP was portrayed as the enemy of Islam and the Malays, and the Islamist party was chastised for bending to the will of the Chinese-dominated party, before a gathering of more than 1,000 mostly Malay residents (here). The vitriolic attacks against PR by Umno Youth leaders at last night’s rally here suggests the Barisan Nasional (BN) lynchpin is determined to continue its hardline racial rhetoric to create a siege mentality among the Malays to unite behind them"

Bending to the will of the Chinese-dominated party? Really? Why? Just because somebody from DAP pointed out that there was no law, yet, allowing seizure of beer from convenience stores? What else? There probably could be something else but as a Chinese fler I really don't see any big deal that PAS is bending to. Except maybe PAS is bending from the onslaught of silly "hardline racial rhetoric" from Umno in their bid to try and rally Malay support by constantly harping on racial insecurities.

Aiyoh! Why I digress so much ah? I said I woke up to some good news, right? Okay, okay...here it is.

One Umno Youth Exco member, Lokman Adam (who apparently was a founding member of PKR so he is now a froggie singing a different tune for a different master) was asking why the Shah Alam Municipal Council now controlled by PR did not revoke the license for Carlsberg brewery to operate in the district.

Why PR did not revoke the licence for the Carlsberg Brewery to operate? Why? Are you thick or what? Oh sorry, redundant question that. First, it would mean thousands would lose their jobs. Second, the state would lose millions in revenue. Third, and this is a genuine question. Islam forbids alcohol consumption for its followers. But does it impose its edicts on people of other faiths in the same community? Fourth, who was the state government when the licence was granted and why did the previous government not revoke it since you are now saying that it is so wrong to have it in the first place?

Lokman also said, "When PAS wanted to ban alcohol, they did not refer to the Quran or the Sunnah, but they referred the matter to DAP." Hey! As a thinking Malaysian I'd say Sybas! to PAS for that. Shows they are good Muslims as far as I'm concerned. They want to ban alcohol for Muslims (because it is against the religion to consume alcohol) but they also understand that the ban would have implications on others of their fellow-citizens living in the same community. So they start a dialogue to arrive at a solution that would benefit the whole community irregardless of race or creed. No good meh? Then I sure won't vote for you in the next election la.

Another Umno fler also said, "Don’t think that a vote for PAS is a vote for Islam. It did not happen in Penang, or in Selangor. Instead Islam has been insulted." Hiyoh! We have heard so much about Islam being "insulted" that has become damn tiring la. Can these politicians please explain HOW Islam has been insulted by anyone recently? I really want to understand.

And finally, Selangor Umno Youth chief Suhaimi Ghazali said, "Maybe one day pork will be sold openly in Shah Alam". (Sigh. How low can these politicians sink in trying to win votes?)

Hey when that day comes we will truly have the 1Malaysia that Najib is shouting about. People of all races and creeds living in harmony with perfect understanding and acceptance. Without insulting anyone and without imposing unfairly on anyone. Without fear. Isn't that what you want too?

So you must be asking what is the good news Patrick is talking about? No meh? It's good news because if the Umno flers continue with their campaign of trying to incite fear and racial disharmony that's a sure sign their on their way out. Isn't it?

Bad Things

There's this show on HBO called True Blood. Pretty cool show about vampires ( not lame sparkly ones), and I love the opening song.

Jace Everett- Bad Things

I wanna do bad things with you.

When you came in the air went out.
And every shadow filled up with doubt.
I don't know who you think you are,
But before the night is through,
I wanna do bad things with you.

I'm the kind to sit up in his room.
Heart sick an' eyes filled up with blue.
I don't know what you've done to me,
But I know this much is true:
I wanna do bad things with you.

When you came in the air went out.
And all those shadows there are filled up with doubt.
I don't know who you think you are,
But before the night is through,
I wanna do bad things with you.
I wanna do real bad things with you.
Ow, ooh.

I don't know what you've done to me,
But I know this much is true:
I wanna do bad things with you.
I wanna do real bad things with you.
